I currently live in Richmond, Virginia where I create commercial illustrations for national and international clients including: Entertainment Weekly, Oakley, Playboy Magazine, Scholastic, Mountain Dew, Die Zeit, Washington Post, ESPN Magazine, Men's Health, Runner's World, General Mills, Military Officer Magazine, The CFA Institute, Port Authority and many more. I have established relationships with clients in each area of the art industry, from editorial illustrations for magazines and comic books to concept art and advertising.
For over four years, I taught at Virginia Commonwealth University, instructing: Concept Art, Digital Drawing, Visual Studies: Design, Comics and Graphic Novels, Figure Drawing, Sequential Imaging, Senior Project/Studio, and Type & Image.
I continue to serve as an educator to rising illustrators through The Art Educators Blog (www.thearteducatorsblog.blogspot.com), started in March of 2010, when I teamed up with illustrators Tomer Hanuka, Frank Stockton, Sterling Hundley, Josh George, (and several others), to provide advice and show step-by-step process to students and young artists.
My work has received several awards from organizations like 3x3 Magazine, American Illustration, Creative Quarterly, Evangelical Press Association, Richmond Illustrator's Club, Society of Illustrators of New York, and Society of Illustrators of Los Angeles.
