About
I am a Canadian born photographer recently returned to Canada after having spent the last 11 years living and working in both Japan and Sweden. I am a 1996 BA (Art History) graduate of the University of British Columbia and have a background in studio arts as well as art theory. My interest in photography grew out of my endless commutes in Tokyo. I am especially interested in these (in)between spaces. Marc Auge "..argues powerfully that we are in transit through non-place for more and more of our time, as if between immense parenthesis...". My personal interest is in how these spaces, subways, paths through parks and underpasses reflect a sense, or lack, of belonging, identity and social relationships. What these parenthesis say about the way we live and how more and more of our lives are lived in them.
