Projection mapped stage design for Roskilde Festival

For several decades the Roskilde Festival has provided a unique musical experience each summer for hundreds of thousands of people. We in Obscura were delighted to add to this experience doing video projection scenography for the Gloria stage.

In close collaboration with the Roskilde scenographer and stage crew a unique cave like structure was built around the stage and we set up video projectors to cover the whole surface. We also set up three remote controlled cameras in order to project live images of the performers onto the structure.

The challenge was for the VJs to accommodate to the very diverse line up of musicians - from east asian folk music to minimal electronic soundscapes during the four days of the festival.
