Description
This was a simple lighting and rendering exercise using Cinema 4D's global illumination with an HDR image. My goal was to create a warm atmosphere in the renders using the basic three-point lighting system: a primary light source (white), a fill light source (very warm yellow) and a backing/rim light source (cold blue). The effect of these light sources can be seen in the colour tint of the shadows.
The strength and 'saturation' of these secondary light sources were adjusted increasing overall 'warmth' of the renders.
  • Lighting & Global Illumination Study

A basic three-point lighting and rendering study using global illumination in combination with a 360° HDRI image.

This was a simple lighting and rendering exercise using Cinema 4D's advanced global illumination feature in combination with a 360' HDR image probe.

My goal was to create a warm atmosphere in the renders using the basic three-point lighting system: a primary light source (white), a fill light source (very warm yellow) and a backing/rim light source (cold blue). The effect of these light sources can be seen in the colour tint of the shadows. The strength and 'saturation' of these secondary light sources were adjusted increasing or decreasing the overall 'warmth' of the renders.
